DeKaap Vineyards are located three kilometres outside of the town of Mcgregor and the homestead dates back to circa 1880. This historic home was gutted by fire some years back after which Carrick and Aimee Campbell and their family set out to lovingly restore the property and ran a country restaurant for some years.
There are 25-year-old Cabernet Sauvignon vines, as well as much younger Malbec, Cabernet Franc, and Grenache Noir Vines surrounding the homestead.

It was recently purchased by William Wilson who resides on the property. William looks after the grape production and vineyard maintenance.

The annual harvest is sent to winemaker Lourens van der Westhuizen, owner of Arendsig Estate in Robertson, where he produces Cabernet Sauvignon and Blanc de Noir wines of exceptional quality under the deKaap brand.

These single-vineyard wines are made with minimal interference throughout vinification. During fermentation natural yeast is used and no enzymes. Maturation takes place in neutral vessels to bring through the unique vineyard character.
